Year 3 Class teacher - part time

Temporary contract – Maternity cover

Start date: 31st October 2022                                     Teachers Main Pay Scale

  • Do you want to teach in a school where every child really does matter AND where every adult knows that they matter too?
  • Do you want to be part of a highly supportive team of professionals committed to helping children flourish and succeed?
  • Do you want to be part of an ambitious school with a well-defined curriculum and rich development opportunities?

Come and be part of our welcoming team and help to make a difference in our school.

We have an exciting opportunity for a class teacher to join our current team of skilled and enthusiastic teachers. This is a part-time vacancy, four days per week in Year 3, and is currently a maternity cover role.

We are a happy, friendly school in a vibrant village community. Our aim is to provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment for everyone. We know that having the right staff, and looking after them, enables us to achieve this and we wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working class teacher who will put our children first.

The successful applicant will have high expectations for themselves and for all the children that they teach. He/she will know how to inspire others to achieve, and show commitment to self-improvement with a reflective and determined attitude. A track record of good team work and a supportive, collaborative attitude is essential, as we believe that teaching is a team sport.

Greens Norton is a one-form entry school with brilliant children and a friendly committed staff. We are small enough that every child is known to every adult in school, but large enough to provide a variety of opportunities for our children to flourish. Extensive grounds support our evolving curriculum and staff are encouraged to share and follow new ideas to inspire and nurture a love of learning in our children. As a church school and a member of the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust, Christian values are embedded in all aspects of school life.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and safer recruitment practice, and expect all of our staff to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants and references will be requested for short-listed applicants prior to interview and will form part of the interview process. The successful applicant will also be expected to undertake a medical questionnaire.

We would encourage potential applicants to visit our school prior to submitting an application. Our Headteacher, Sue Marsh, would be delighted to showcase our school and allow you to get a genuine feel for whether Greens Norton Primary is the right next step for you. Please contact the school office to arrange a suitable time by phoning 01327 350648 or by emailing bursar@greensnorton.northants-ecl.gov.uk.

Closing date                      5.00 pm Friday 8th July 2022

We look forward to hearing from you.
