Geography

At Greens Norton, our aim is to inspire our pupils to explore the world around them with curiosity, confidence and a sense of place. Through our Geography curriculum, children develop an understanding of their local area, the wider world and the diverse people, environments and cultures that shape it. From EYFS to Year 6, children are encouraged to ask questions, investigate geographical concepts and make connections between the physical and human features of places.
We provide opportunities for pupils to use maps, atlases, digital tools and fieldwork to deepen their understanding and develop key geographical skills. They learn to describe and compare locations, observe changes over time, and consider how humans interact with and impact the environment.
We aim to facilitate meaningful and engaging learning experiences by dedicating time to geographical enquiry, providing high-quality resources, and designing sequences of lessons that lead to outcomes our pupils are proud of. Whether exploring their own locality or learning about distant continents, our children develop a growing sense of responsibility and respect for the world and the people in it.
