"Pupils behave well. They play happily together and consider each other’s needs very well.""Parents are right to be pleased with the quality of teaching at the school.""Pupils learn well because the work they do provides good levels of challenges and helps them learn new skills.""There is a happy and purposeful atmosphere in classrooms.""The curriculum supports pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development effectively.""Pupils get off to a good start in early years."

The school is lucky to have a committed and enthusiastic board of governors. Governance is a key feature of an effective school and our governing body are constantly challenging themselves to make sure that the service the school offers is the best that it can be. If you would like to know more about their work or indeed would be interested in becoming a governor - you can contact the Chair of Governors via the school office.

Richard Owen – Co-opted (Chair of Governors)

I have been a Governor since September 2014, originally as a Parent Governor, and now as a Co-opted Governor.  I am the designated Governor responsible for Information Technology and use my knowledge of the sector to assist the school in ensuring the systems made available to pupils are up-to-date and cost-effective.  I am also a member of the Finance & Personnel, and Estates & Facilities sub-committees where my work role as a director of a not-for-profit company has been of assistance.  I have two children who presently attend the school and I hope to help the other Governors and senior school staff in ensuring the school continues to improve the progress of all pupils.

Kerry Finch – Co-opted (Vice Chair)

I joined the Governing Body in September and I am a Co-opted Governor.  My daughter Emily attends Greens Norton CofE Primary School and my youngest daughter Hannah will be joining in September 2016. I sit on the Finance & Personnel Committee and I am the designated Safeguarding Governor.  I work as a Personnel & Payroll Officer at a Junior School and I have experience in HR. I enjoy the role of Governor and believe the children are at the heart of everything we do as a Governing Body.

Francesca Burns – Parent Governor

I joined the Governing Body in July 2013 and really enjoy the role. I sit on two sub-committees, the Finance and Personnel Committee and the Teaching and Learning Committee.  I am the designated Numeracy Governor and also the Governor linked to the Parent Forum. I have two children attending the school in years 2 and 3 and decided to become a Parent Governor as I strongly believe every child has the right to receive the best possible education.  I have previously worked in Learning and Development and Audit and hope that my various skills are of help to the school and the Governing Body with its continuous journey.

Louisa Woods – Foundation Governor

I joined the Governing Body in July 2015. I help organise and run a preschool group of children with their parents/carers once a week in St Bartholomew's. I am keen to grow a strong connection between the school and the church to develop a good community spirit that embeds a happy, moral ethos in the heart of Greens Norton School.

Revd. Lulu Pelly – Foundation Governor

I joined the Governing Body in July 2015 as a Foundation Governor.  I am an Assistant Priest in the Benefice which includes St. Bartholomew’s Church, Greens Norton. I hope that I am able with my colleagues in the Church and my fellow governors to contribute to the well-being of both children and staff through Christian care, support and encouragement.

Elizabeth Cunningham

My name is Liz Cunningham and I have recently become a Parent Governor. I have a son in Year 3 so am looking forward to becoming more involved in the school.  I work in Human Resources at an engineering company and have daily dealings with people, most dealings being very positive with some being a little more challenging! I have previously worked in Education and Healthcare so hope to bring a variety of experience and input to the school

Darrel Ince

My name is Darrel Ince and I have lived in the village for the past 30 years. I have three children who have all attended the school. I am currently a Professor of Computing at the Open University but, more importantly for the school and Greens Norton, I am editor of the Greens Norton News.
