Introduction

Greens Norton is a charming rural community steeped in history. There has been a school in the village since at least 1876. The first phase of the present school building was opened in 1966 and a second phase, officially opened by CM Benham Esq followed in 1972.
Greens Norton C of E school enjoys a reputation as one of the leading centres for primary education in the county. Its links with the village and its long history are celebrated in the school logo, which depicts the windmill that was a local landmark until demolition in 1969.
We are proud of our thriving village school and of the active role it plays in the life of the local community. We aim to foster a friendly and caring atmosphere and to provide a dynamic curriculum for our children.

To quote our latest OFSTED report,

"Pupils are enthusiastic, enjoy coming to school and are keen to join in the range of activities the school provides"
Teachers promote good work habits, motivate pupils well and have high expectations of behaviour"
Teachers reinforce positive attitudes through the effective use of praise"
Teachers know their pupils well and work in pupils' best interests to safeguard their welfare"
The school ensures that effective communication exists between staff and parents and this benefits pupils' personal development"
The school successfully builds upon the strong moral foundation established in pupils' home lives".

But we are not standing still. We aim to promote creativity across the curriculum, accommodating a variety of learning styles and technologies to enable children to realise their dreams.

But that's just our view.
