The Curriculum
Music
Our work in this area of the curriculum encourages children to enjoy music through:
- Performing
- Listening
- Composing
- Developing musical knowledge and understanding
Children with musical ability have the opportunity of learning to play the violin, cello, flute, clarinet and brass instruments under the scheme offered by the Northamptonshire Music Service. Guitar lessons are also available for individuals or pairs of children. There is a charge for these lessons, which are paid for on a termly basis. Within the school children have the opportunity to learn the recorder.
As a school we are keen to support children who are talented in this area of the curriculum and encourage them to sit external exams.
